offenders\u2019 personal development so that they are provided the opportunity for personal self-growth, gain a sense of direction and prepare for transition back into the Skills4Life project focuses on young offenders\u2019 personal development and tries to make provisions so that they are provided the opportunity for personal self-growth and self-development during their life course, so as to gain a sense of direction and prepare for release. The project aims to develop a holistic learning programme that helps young people in custody develop a new non-criminal identity.<\/p>\n<p>The Skills4Life project serves a dual purpose:<\/p>\n<p>[a]. to frame a new context in which young offenders may shed off \u201coffending identities\u201d and negotiate new, prosocial non-criminal identities and pathways for their lives,<\/p>\n<p>[b]. to provide them the tools to put their lives back on track after release.<\/p>\n<p>The project proposes the development of a holistic learning programme, which will take into account the needs of the individual \u2013 emotional, psychological and social needs \u2013 so that they can develop and achieve empowerment and class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Skills4Life includes:<\/p><ul><li>research activities on existing initiatives supporting young offenders as well as on their needs regarding the development of life skills to support their lives after release<\/li><li>educational content development activities, which include the development of the educational curriculum for young offenders, the trainer\u2019s guide and the students\u2019 handbook<\/li><li>training activities, when the Skills4Life Workshops will be organized in prisons and custodial settings in the four participating countries.<\/li><\/ul><p>It is expected that a total of eight (8) prisons throughout Europe will test and pilot the Skills4Life approach, while a total of eighty (80) young offenders are
