Project Activities
Multiplier Events
Four Multiplier events- one in each participating country will be organized by project partners in order to promote the project’s Intellectual Outputs and results. Each event will specifically target prison governors, prison professionals, penitentiary personnel, researchers, policy makers, government officials, prison schools, civil society organisations, youth organisations, NGOs, practitioners in the field etc. It will be organised to engage national multiagency participants, but it will also have some transnational presentations to illustrate that the issue which the project addresses is an EU-wide issue for which an EU-wide solution must be sought.

Training Events
The Skills4Life project will organize a transnational training activity for prison professionals on the methodology and the approach of the project. The ultimate aim of this activity is to lay the essential groundwork and to equip prisons and prison professionals with all the necessary skills to employ the Skills4Life methodology in their prison setting. This process aims at the strong familiarization of participants with the project methodologies.
Representatives from each of the eight (8) prisons that will test the Skills4Life methodology are going to participate in the “Skills4Life Training of Trainers” that is going to be organised by the University of Gloucestershire, in Cheltenhman, UK. After the end of this process, all the participants of this extensive capacity-development training activity are expected to return to their prisons, share the “Skills4Life” methodology and carry out peer learning. This peer learning training typically involves practical methodologies and approaches for classroom practice and the use of sample lessons or activities.

EPEA biennial conference
The main project dissemination event is the presentation of the project outputs and deliverables during the 2023 EPEA Conference, whose overall theme is “Education in Prison. Everyday challenges, experiences and solutions”. The EPEA Conference is the biggest European event in the field of prison education bringing together all practitioners and the most representative organisations in the field of prison education from European prisons, prison schools, public authorities and civil society organisations. The EPEA Conference will provide the opportunity to present to the widest and most relevant European and international audience the Skills4Life methodology and products.
The 2023 EPEA Conference will host a thematic workshop specifically dedicated to the “Skills4Life” project. This workshop is the ultimate dissemination event of the project, since it will present the totality of the work achieved and it will promote the active engagement of all interested parties in similar future activities. During the workshop, all the aspects and outcomes of the project will be highlighted, focusing on the innovations of the products, their future sustainability and their replication.
